Sirandane (La)

In the east of the island in Saint-Benoît, La Sirandane offers the opportunity to discover traditional Reunionese cuisine with the locals in a friendly atmosphere through a participatory workshop.
With friends or family, you can experience a typical Reunionese day by taking part in a traditional cooking workshop at Tonton Dadi in the Abondance district on the road from Takamaka to Saint-Benoît.

The day begins with the traditional “risofé” with a “grilled coffee”.
Depending on the day's menu, preparation of the aperitif (samosas, pepper candies, etc.), the dishes (curries, rougails, etc.) and “péi” cakes for dessert.
La Sidarane uses local products cooked over a wood fire, in order to respect the traditions of yesteryear.
“Goni empty I can’t stand up!” : time for an aperitif, homemade rums, tasting of the dishes served in “the valve”, as local tradition dictates.
The day ends around 15 p.m. by tasting the dessert with a small herbal tea to digest.
We speak: French, Creole, English
