It is with enthusiasm, impatience and enthusiasm that we wait for Davy Sicard's “Kafé Griyé” tour to pass through Eastern Reunion.
This will be done on Sunday April 14 for a first date at Bras-Panon.
The thing is simple and yet clever, Davy Sicard will perform on several stages in each town on the island. Initially, concerts “tshak tshak” (for the rather spontaneous, simple and dynamic nature of the installation). Then a final concert, in a unifying place will close the community's stage in a longer and more festive manner.
Kafé Griyé
“Jilo Jilo, la kaz Jilo…” These are the words of a tune which resonated well on the airwaves and on local and international stages and which heralded an innovative impulse.
And for good reason, Davy Sicard presents to us what is clearly a turning point in his musical career: Kafé Griyé!
The Séga Nouvo is catchy, danceable, elegant and sensual
A new repertoire essentially made up of original songs in a Reunion Séga style, in line with the so-called Kreol Séga worn by the illustrious Narmine Ducap, Jules Arlanda or even Maxime Laope to recite nobody else but them.
He inscribes these new songs in a style that he calls Séga Nouvo, like Jules Arlanda who himself already associated at his time, the term Nouvo with his Séga.
This Séga Nouvo wants to be catchy, dancing of course but also carrying a particularly elegant and sensual trait.
A rhythm that moves with grace, set with melodies in cleverly mixed colors, themselves adorned with finely crafted and carefully chosen words.
The whole is intended to reflect a strong anchoring, open to the world and taking on a new, remarkable light, similar to that of a dawn for Séga Reunion.
